Nashville Pussy – Concert Review

0

What can you say about Nashville Pussy? Well, that for the last 15 or so years, they’ve been one of the hardest touring bands on the road, that each album is full of classics or classics-to-be, that they always put on a solid rockin’ show…and this night was no disappointment. NP took the stage and played a smokin’ hour long set that included a sturdy cross section of their 5 album arsenal of songs. Missing from the line up was Karen Cuda, but filling in was none other than Eddie Spaghetti, who played great and the band sounded killer.

All the classics were belted out in the usual, high octane fashion. Starting the set with Say Something Nasty, they set a tone that didn’t let up.  Throughout the set, a lot of the fan favorites were played. Raucous versions of righteous tuneage such as Piece Of Ass, C’mon C’mon, Going Down Swinging, Struttin’ Cock and High As Hell were all there, and all delivered with the usual frenzied antics one comes to expect from this band and the crowd was lovin; it

And how could you not?? Both Blaine and Ruyter’s guitars blasting away loudly, Jeremy and Eddie holding down the low end with complete authority. The fact that Blaine still has any voice left after playing this stuff for so long now is nothing short of miraculous, but he sounded great, and is a consummate showman to boot. It’s a perfect storm of rock n’ roll, and one you don’t wanna miss out on if you have the chance. From first note to last, NP didn’t disappoint.

(Setlist: Say Something Nasty, Shoot First Then Run Like Hell, Johnny Hotrod, Piece Of Ass, I’m So High, Going Down Swinging, Hate And Whiskey, One Way Down, C’mon C’mon, Struttin’ Cock, High As Hell, Go To Hell, Milk Cow Blues, Why Why Why, Go Motherfucker Go, You’re Goin Down )
